Old Cannon fixed base with center screw

I was thinking of making some out of aluminum, has anybody tried that in the past. The original part number is 1007334. Any help would be appreciated

I actually made some out of aluminum and was planning on using them for storing the riggers in a unused compartment of the boat but never did. Only thing is they should probably have a S.S. helicoil as the al. threads would probably wear out over time.

I'd think using something like a T6061 aluminum should be fine, I have bases for the 2 cannon mounts I have, there made out of 1/2" 6061 and they have held for three years now.

1/4x20 threads work fine, have so far anyway.

I would recommend a bit of anti seize on the stainless machine screws though.
