Rascal Trophy Fishing
That's a very insightful and useful post Capt. Jimmy, and I think it applies to any of the Great Lakes we fish for salmon. In the old days, we called this rig a dodger and squid, the squid being a variation on a fly, plastic, glow and non-glowing, and we had super success. Still do today when applicable. I knew and still know some guys that if given a choice of only one lure/rig to run, they still prefer this one. We used to run a bit slower, 1.6-2.0 for speed, so as not to have too many twists in the line. Today we have much better swivels that can take the higher speed though. Great post Capt., thanks. SUPERTRAMP
Good post lots of info there. Lake Michigan is a little different ballgame but still the same principles apply.
