Battery Maintainer

Recommended Posts

I recently purchased a B&D 2 amp battery maintainer from Home Depot for $20. What I like about this charger is it's price and the the number of options for hooking it up. I'll use it for my boat and tractor. For my boat I don't need any of the three attachments I just plug it into one of the two wire downrigger feeds. Take a look at the link below and you will see this familiar connection. When the boat gets backed into its bay I just plug it in without the need to even jump onboard. Few things that cost $20 or under impress me but this sure does. A battery that is even slightly discharged will cause the starter to draw more amps and heat up. This should make off season battery maintenance a cake walk. I just thought it may help some of you.

I have a similar charger I use for the tractor & boat. At $20 bucks I just bought 2 and just leave one in the boat all the time. I run a cord out to plug in the shore power and just flip a breaker in the cabin and the charger just takes over
