Salmon at night

Recommended Posts

I like night fishing the best, just because I'm not a morning person anymore. getting up at 4am to head to the lake to get that early morning bite kinda well bites...

we head out between 5-7pm go 20-30 feet deeper than the current reports, slow troll toward shore.

put the glow stuff out with about 1-2 inches of sun left on the horizon. and hang on just like the morning bite.

we have stayed out as late a 1am.

I used to fish at night a lot more and had great success doing it. Pretty much what Jon said. If you can find them (which you have more time to do from 5-8) and then switch out to glows with about an hour left, and just hang on.

The one challenge with this is that you are typically having to clear doubles and tripples in the dark -which can be fun too.

I've never targeted lakers at night. Interesting questions. Would love to hear an answer from someone that has.

I never targeted lakers once this weekend and still pulled in 8. That being said, we did catch a hog Saturday night after dark while pulling lines. He took a Mag UofM Frog Silver Streak dragging bottom on a rigger (I wasn't purposely dragging bottom, just was busy pulling the other lines :))
