The Summer Bite

So, in the summer like this when not to many people are catching fish, is it because the fish just aren't biting, they're scattered, or is it because they're super deep? Combination of all three?

Combination of the Mayfly hatch and migration patterns. The fishing will pick up shortly. I only hope that the water temps stay in the range they are now on the east side of the pond.

We're waiting for the offshore fish to move in. It won't be long.

It should get better once you have a thermocline , We are having similar problems here, the lake is still setting up, shouldn't be long.

Typical year. Last year was the exception.

Western shores have been picking up FAST! Algoma, Kewaunee, and Sturgeon Bay have been just absolutely slaying big kings and it appears to be a pretty heavy flasher/fly bite. Long fly leaders and oil slick colors like the one that Eyefly has seem pretty damn productive during the day. Blue/Green/Chartreuse is a very close second with a Mtn Dew blade. I don't know if it's just the fly or what, but same pattern Howie fly hasn't been touched when the same eyefly is getting beat up badly.
