Moonshine Lures

Recommended Posts

There are a lot of "good" colors, and that all changes depending on what port you fish in to!

My suggestion.... Buy 1 of each of the 4 "Flounder Pounder" colors and you'll be good to go :thumb:

Also, I am a big fan of the Blue glow or Purple glow stuff. I am of the opinion that when the spoons are "nuclear" glowing....its too much. I like a soft subtle glow, and the blues and purples are just that.

I have buddies that will fish a glow spoon in the morning on a "full charge" and wont catch a fish for 30 minutes on those spoons. Then when they do catch a fish, they re-charge it before putting it back in. WHY?? I like to put it back in the water the same way it came out. It had enough glow for the first fish to bite it....why re-charge it?

Remember...Baitfish dont glow either, and Salmon dont have a problem finding them in the dark :thumb:

Flounder Pounder, Tangerine Tarzan, Happee Meal, Double Trouble, Sarge, V Neck and Orange Slice all get water time on my boat. There are others that I run also but those are the main ones.

Martini...hot lips....tangy toad....bad toad...jawbreaker....smitty....highline...orange sarge...shelly snack....green jeans.... they all catch kings! My favorite salmon spoon is a tie between the tangy toad and the martini. And a highline magnum on 3 colors of leadcore kills the steelhead in lake Michigan for me!

Flounder Pounder, Blue Flounder, Agent Orange, Do-De-K, Happy Meal, Mongolian Beef, Hot Lips, Crab Face, Bad Toad, Brook Trout, Moonshine and Bloody Nose.

You just can't have enough of them if you fish the predawn or past sunset.

As mentioned before. Don't over charge them, or give them sometime to tame down.

Your question is like asking a parent to pick their favorite child......

The mandatory moonshines are.....

1. Blue Flounder Pounder

2. Bloody Nose

3. Dancing Anchonvy

4. JJ Mac Muffin

5. Happy Meal.... down the chute 225-275' of copper is FATAL!

* standard size agent orange has reduced the coho so far this year *

We fish out of Ludington alot during the fall, and at the end of fall last year we killed the kings on the tangy toad. Although as of this year in Holland 80% of our fish have come of the bloody nose spoon. My favorite spoons are bloody nose, tangy toad, and the flouder pounder
