Monroe/Lake Erie

Recommended Posts

Is anyone familiar with the fishing in the Monroe Area? I know there's a state park(Sterling) which people fish out of but I don't know how good the fishing is compared to other areas in the Down River Region. I don't have a boat, so I'm primarily looking for good shore fishing spots.

Any insight would be much appreciated.

Not familiar at all, but you could fish the maumee river. I know it can be hectic but if you are close enough to catch it on a weeknight it might not be too crowded.

I agree with the maumee for not having a boat and getting fish. right downtown maumee at the bridge they do prett good with stick baits. when i go down to the inlaws in the spring i always end up going down there but have never fished it, and always see guys with fish. not sure if there is anywhere near trenton you can fish from shore or not usually we use a boat in that area. You could give trenton lighthouse tackle shop a call and maybe they can give you a little more info. They are the walleye store in that are and have all the info on em.
