I can tell you what not to do if you're interested. Don't have the brakes on the trailer overheat so it takes you 7 hours to get there. Then don't stay up until 4:30 am drinking beer. Then don't hit the water at 10:30 am so hung over you can barely stand in the 3-4' waves. Then don't leave the water at 12:30pm because the whole crew feels like crap. That's what you don't want to do.

Here is a link to the net locations:

These sites also have reports from the area:

If I remember channels 7, 10 and 68 all get fishing traffic.

I haven't been there this year. We often fish the stretch of water .5-2 miles north of Big Sable point as we usually find fish and less boat traffic.

Hope you catch a bunch!

I'm in manistee right now. We're catching fish straight out and south in 100-200 fow early and 250-400 during the day. Riggers down 80 are hot. Moonshines and glow plugs. Wire divers back 200+ with a chrome paddle and green fly are also producing fish. We'll be here till Sunday. Goodluck!!

Went this weekend, magic depth 130. Caught most fish on green dolphin, bloodynose was also hot.The current was moveing. We trolled north at 3 surface speed.South troll at 1.5made the rigger cables go to far back.Riggers down 75ft. and 60ft. Hope this helps you out.Do not try to turn with spin dr. on all 4dipsys out. The current will tangle them.Had everything set right, but the current did not allow you to make a turn.Ran mostly spoons.Have a good time.

When you are fishing over that deep of water how far down are you fishing at midday?I can never catch anything during the day.Just when the sun is about to go down.

110 down over the deep water on big paddles. :)

right on the money. the only other thing I could add is blue bubble. Back in the 80's it was the blue Michigan sparkle fly and it was deadly. behind a crome o doger.8' to 10' behind the ball. # 5 green J plug is also very productive.
