3 for 3 is good fishing. atleast your hook to catch ratio is 100%. that is darn good. dont let big numbers fool you if you can consistantly catch 3 fish a trip then you will eventually hit the mother load. Nice job.

Thanks guys for the atta boy. best part I remembered to loosen the drag on the wire dipsey's " before" pulling the rod out.:D:lol:. On one other note with the wire, (19 strand) have had to now strip about 300 ft off one rod due to getting caught next to the roller, and also last night had it actually some how get wound in the reel where the spool meets the case...:angry2::eek:. Not sure why? but after half hour of fixing it was able to run again withoout a problem.

Doug

I use to fish roller rods and had that problem. Now im not saying that all roller rods are that way. I had the okuma blue diamonds which are pretty good and my buddy had the tolora rods buy shammano and also has the same issue. I switched to titanium eyelet guides with a twil tip and have been very happy. I have had no issues with wire since switching to this type of set up. As far as brands its all in what you like but im pretty happy with this set up.

Doug, I know how you feel. A few years ago I was fishing out of Frankfort w/ my now wife and I lost 3 dipsey/flasher/fly setups due to the wire getting caught next to the rollers on my Eagle Claw roller rod or between the spool and frame of my Daiwa Great Lakes reel. Shortly after that trip I changed my wire setups to Daiwa Heartland Dipsey rods with a Twilli Tip. The rod was $30 and the Twilli Tip was $7. I also upgraded my reels to Daiwa Sealines. Since then I have had no problems and love catching fish on wire now. It will save you money to invest into a new combo, if you keep losing gear. Good luck.
