The boat is all too big for my garage, so i used a tent as shelter for sun and rain.

Thats a sweet looking rig you have. Did you do the engine swap yourself? Did you do all the rigging?

It wont be long and you will be yelling "Fish On"! Somewhere's on the site is the "fish on" song. You will have to get it and put it on a cd so you can play it on the lake.

Nice boat! Great job on the rigging and repower. It looks like you have done a first rate job. Maybe you can explain how you troll in the sea over there. What depths, temps and any other info. Welcome to the site and good luck with your fishing.

Hello!

I did a search for the song and found the thread but it seems like the file have been deleted or link not working.

I would love to hear it.

Yes I did all the engine swap and and the rigging myself, I am a former mechanic(infact former Mustad mechanic and hook maker, I spent 5 years at the Mustad factory in Norway) so that was no big deal.

I hope i can yell FISH ON already this weekend, but ya never know at this windy part of the year.

Very nice rig, and nice job on resetting it up.

I do have a question for ya,

I dont see many rod holder on the side. Do you guys over there use many boards and lead core or copper, or many diver rigs.

I love the radar arch i was thinking of adding one, that could give me a place for three more holders.

Hello and thx Line Dancin.

Yes we use both big planer boards and inline boards, with the big boards we are able to spread the lures more than 200ft on each side of the boat, we use divers and sinkers on the planer spoons.

We also use three downrigger with up to three rods on each downrigger.

i do have eight flush mounted rod holders, two of them are being used as downrigger mounts. Even when trolling dipsys we use either the down rigger rod holders or the flush mounted ones for the DD rods.

I have not seen the adjustable type rod holders that you use for the DD rods, but i understand the thought of getting the rod tip closer to the surface. The higher above the surface the tip is, the more line you have to add to get down to the same depth as a rod with tip close to surface.

Glad you like the radar arch, it was me and a buddy who made and welding it together.

Very nice boat! With the twin engines, do you need to throw out "bags" or does it troll slow enough just the way it is?? Glad to see that folks across the ocean are enjoying the same love of fishing. Keep the stories and pics coming, please.

Thanks alot!

No need for drift socks, maybe if I shall use Anchovy special and troll one knot.

With planer boards in the sea and all four downriggers in the water, my lowest speed is approx 1.3 knots.

I am a high speed troller so nemas problemas here.

Yes and the other one shut off, in gear and still in the water.

Aaah... that makes sense. I was wondering how you'd be able to slow it down to 1.3 even with only one motor running... the drag of the second motor is the key. Got it. Thanks.

yes but not only the drag of the engine.

When launching my planner boards and downrigger i decrease my trolling speed by one knot.

I use a Swedish special designed planer boards called TL-Power planer, these ones create a drag on the planer line close to 30lb. This is planer boards that look alot like Big Jon otter boards.
