Recommended Posts

While fishing Isle royal this past weekend we told by park ranger that our steelhead counted as salmon an not as trout in our limits of fish ....now my understanding of the law it goes by spieces ...does anyone have the correct info on this for lake superior in mich waters

It is by species. however differernt bodies of water have different regulations. which body of water does this fall in. I would have to say of hand that he is wrong because the rule reads no more then three of one spcies. I just double checked on michgian.gov/dnr and it reads as follows ( No more then 5 salmon or trout, no more then three of one species in any combination, and no more then two lake trout. and it states great lakes however there are alot of special notes and I did not see any for lake superior so i would asume that it falls under the above catigorie.
