They are so harmless its not even funny.  And are great for eating bugs, and our ecosystem.  Bats are one of natures coolest creations.  I would welcome many aboard my boat out trolling.  But never had that happen.  Couple swallows and other birds, but that its.

Perch dont usually come around for another month.  And around Saugatuck its hit or miss.  You can find them to the south around the rocks sometimes.  Water needs to warm up a bit still.

Went out yesterday out of saugatuck.  Nothing in mud line now, and went south 30/80 fow and nothing from 5 pm till 8. Few marks.  Not one bite.  Cold water on top.  Heard fish moved out.  SMH.  Who knows?  Great weather tho

Same with me...It sucked...Thought fish would be there for a day or so...Nope gone upstream

Ya, I think your right...Its Plumerville creek...Just south of the county park...I dont know why I want to call it Deerlick all the time...Jeesh...

And we usually stop along Oval Bch or another sandy bch and seine for shiners...ANd the big ones we just cut them in half and use tails...Seems to work fairly well...Unless you kid is your partner on the seine and has trouble!!!

The perch are moving in closer...I run out of Saugatuck, and head south by the mouth of Deer Lick creek...Which is about 8 miles north of South Haven pier...Fished mostly in 25 to 30 fow, and had to move a few times...But, managed a dozen nice 8 to 12" perch...Some annoying gooby bites, but not bad...Should be getting better bite with warmer weather...Will be fishing for yellow bellies within next couple of days, and I know some folks down in South Haven I will call out too...Till then..

Got boat in the water over at Tower Marina...Was hit or miss with the high water after 2 days of heavy rain...Alot of docks were under water, but water went down pretty fast...

Anyway, dusted off the gear and went out to 55 fow and set up on S. troll...Few other boats around Saugatuck, more in front of Holland...Radio fairly quite...Good clear water at 50fow, but fluctuated...Lost 2 fish on dipsys 75ft back, spoons...Nothing on riggers or boards....Trolled out to 85fow, nothing, very few marks...Hopefully some kings will be coming this way soon...

Awesome info thanks everyone for sharing...Think next time out were headed for deeper water....Love fighting tail dancing steelhead... 

Fished out of Saugatuck, and in 60 to 120 fow of water both days.  Really slow, but good weather and calm yesterday.  Nice days to be out fishing, but fish seemed scattered.  As well as the boats.  Plus, for some reason out of Holland and Saugatuck nobody ever has their radios on, or just dont like to respond.  Because its nearly impossible to get a report when your headed out!!!Other then that meat rigs and spoons from 30 to 65 down we fished.  Only 2 fish to show in both days.  Surface temps vary, and for the most part its around 50 to 47 degrees down 45.  Marked some bait and trout.  Not sure, other then headed out further next time.  But water is cold close in still.  Real cold.  Get pockets of colder temps all over.  Had 2 good weeks of fishing then poof.  Anyway that just makes it sweeter when you really hammer them.  If anyone has done good in the area respond?  Its all about the info!! Went out south of Saugatuck and trolled North...85 to110 fow where we hammered them last week, just south of pier head....NOTHING, GONE...Just a few boats out, waves were building...Tough fishing...Only heard one other boat had fish...Water temp change some it looked like...Going to try in deeper water tonight...Heard up north is starting to get better...The pod of fish in Holland and Saugatuck seems to have moved some...But, hopefully there will be alot headed up from South Haven, and St. Joe still...

Went out of Saugatuck to 180 fow...Got on N. troll, with just meat rigs on riggers, and spoons the rest...Fished 40 to 90 fow down...Plucked one nice 12lb steelhead on meat rig in 150 fow, down 60...Zig zagged around to 110 fow, and nothing...Not one other bite...Seem to mark a fair amount of trout on bottom in 120 fow...Didnt even set up for them...Blackmouths must be deeper, and to the North...Had tournament out of Sauggy this mornin too...But dont have info on results of that...

Went out of Saugatuck 8/8 for evening when it was rolling pretty good...5 or 6 boats out trolling N. and South in 120 fow...I joined for a couple hrs with nothing to show...No bait fish, and no marks...Then moved trolled into 70fow with marking some fish, but no takers...Not sure when they are headed up the Kzoo river...But by the looks of it not anytime soon...Even with the water cooling off some about 50 or 60 ft down...

Headed out of Saugatuck Sat afternoon eager to get on some blackmouth action...Had some decent reports out of Tower Marina that in 120fow some cold water had set up in 60 to 70 fow down...And a fair amount of 4yr old blackmouths were getting hooked....So I headed out after 2 week hiatus...Great night, nice SW breeze, 1 -2 ft chop, and not a fish to be found...

Trolled meat rigs, UV spoons, and flys every direction...

From 100 fow to 160 fow...Most about 50 to 90 ft down...

Set lines 5:30 pm and pulled them little after 9...

Not one bite!!!

About 6 boats out and around, and not much on radio...

Then managed to ruffle feathers on my wife/ first mate with my frustration ...Told her she was bad luck...Then I got a good coaching...

Hoping the big blow rolls the lake over and brings cold water and some fish back around...

First post here...Been watching and ready it for awhile now...LOVE it...

Anyway, been a bit slow for me out of Saugatuck...With just Lakers and Steelhead last few times...Tonight a bit of the same..

Fished 7pm to around 9:30...Great night except for the flies..I swear they are all teeth and jaws...

2 for 4 all on dipseys, 155 fow, spoons, 130 ft back...Marked alot of fish...

Seemed to be a fair amount of boats out from 100fow to 200...

Finished one 10lb steelhead, and 8lb laker...

Had 2 steelhead just tear us up...one just tail danced, shook the hook and kept on tail dancing 3 more times...

Weather looks decent, and should be able to get out again SOON...T
