  1. I love the 5:00 - 8:00 AM and the 7:00 - 10:00 PM time frames. Anyone ever notice on Lake Michigan; when the Sun hits the water and you hear that sizzling sound, The Kings go nuts.:)

I agree %100 with you Frank. When the suns hits the water, GET READY!

I noticed when it's late in the day, the fish really start to come up. If we where whacking fish at 60' earlier in the day, as soon as the son drops the fish will come up to 30'-40'

    Ken.

  2. yes you can trade drivers i trades sam hornnish jr. for kyle petty. if you click on drivers

it will give you a listing of all the drivers and you can see who is avalible and who isnt and the rest is pretty self explanitory

There must be something I'm missing. When I click on Drivers, there is nowhere that says anyone is available?

I've read all the FAQ an followed the instructions to a Tee. Where does it say they are Free Agents?

  3. I've finely got a Troll Temp (Cannon brand) coming.

I'm sure I'll have a few questions later this summer.

In the past we always used the bend in the dippsey rods to check our speed.

I've got a good idea from reading Keating's book on the temp thing but, what determines what speed to run at?

Do the fish like it slower in cold water (IE Spring or after a North blow) or do they like it the same all the time?

Do the fish like a change in speed (slower or faster) after the sun goes down?

I plan on running it on my inside rigger, correct?

If any one can give me some in site it would be great.

    Thanks

    Ken.

  4. Do we draft new teams every week, or is this our teams for the year?

One of my drivers finished 1st, another finished 3rd, but #29 pushed my other driver up and took him out of the race. I think that will happen when you bump draft someone going into a turn.

Mike, I think where stuck with who we have.

  5. Push button that could be used with the same hand as the one used to send the rigger down. One hand operation! Then you could as mentioned just push the button to check depth, this would be a handy tool!

    Rick

I also think this is a great idea, Some of us can't remember where we set them.

  6. As of this post we still need two more teams if I read the rules right we won't have a team if we don't have 8

we are down to 5 now.

I had inadvertently signed up twice, I had to re sign with a new name and get rid of my old teems. New name is Kendric1.

It's much easer to get through after you do it 3 times.

Rich the free league is here. (it's the one that says Toyota Draft Play)

  7. I really want Jr to get over the line first but, I think Tony will be right with him (if that Toyota can make the 500 miles:grin:)

If the Hendrick cars get lined up like last Saturday, they will be hard to beat.

  8. I'm going to start running two wire divers this year. On the 1.5-2 setting how much deeper will they dive compared to the super line diver with the same setting?

I know when we where at Detour a few years back, we hit the bottom at 65' with 200 feet out with our super line divers.

    Ken.

  9. and I'm barely able to keep my thoughts on the immediate. I keep drifting off into day dreams of fishing on the pond. It doesn’t help that I recently purchased and received a copy of Keatings book, "...on Kings.â€

I got my Keating book for Christmas, And I've had that problem since.

I've went as far as washing all the spoons, cleaning out the boat, installing more rod holders, New line on the poles, Buying new rods, Reading fishing reports from way back. Last Friday I went as far as to sit in the boat, crack open a cool one, and fire up a stogee. (it's not the same as being out on the big pond)

  10. crazy is what crazy does...

I was up nort for a long period of my life, Ashland Wi, for those not familar you may say we were almost Canadian, living on Lake Superior, brutally long winters. to speed up the story i found myself in a little 14 footer on lake Superior in early april, during ice break up. There was still pack ice floating around. We decided to head over to the ice and drift with it and verticle jig. great idea but bad planning, after a few hours of fishing we noticed it looked like an awful lot of ice between us and the landing. so we decided it best to pull and get out, unfornatly we did not think of this notion a tad bit ealier. Picture me sitting on the bow with an oar pushing huge sheets of crushing ice away from the bow while my partner slowly motored through the pack ice..... for hours......In like the all day kinda thing..... we never made it back to the landing, we had to shore at a river mouth about ten miles from our original launch, fornately there was a small landing used by duck hunters. my partner hoofed it to the main highway, two miles and hitch hiked to the truck and trailer. UFF DA!!

like i said... crazy is what crazy does

Great story! Did you catch any fish?

  11. Al, Skein, those are some nice kings! WOW!

Lake Michigan just didn't give up any of those big boys to us.

Hopefully some time soon we can get the boy to Lake Ontario to play with them beast.

This was more our average size last year. (long and skinny)
