  1. first thing that comes to my mind is where did the deer come from. was it a native michigan deer or was it shipped into the state for breeding purposes. i would think the dnr would find this out before they cause an uprise in things

    Exactly!!!!

  2. Something I found out. Lowrance has discontinued the LCX-111C and the LCX-110. They are coming out with the LCX-113C and LCX-112 to replace these models. This is why the price is so low on this model

If someone was to buy one of these units, and something would happen to it beyond repair would Lowrance give you something of equal value ??

I would be hesitant to buy something that is discontinued...IMHO...

  3. Made it out on the ice today on the Saginaw Bay out of Palmer rd. Found a couple of inches of ice, enough to hold my skinny rear. Handful of others out, they brought shantys, I did not as I thought the ice wouldn't even be there. No strikes, not hits, no errors. Wind was gusting pretty good. May hit it again this weekend if the wind doesn't blow the ice that is there out. Spudded my whole way out, just to be safe. Good luck, don't forget your spuds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dont think you'll have a problem with the ice blowing out, it takes quite a bit of wind to blow out shore ice.....

  4. Where do you guys go fish for steelheads at? I like to fish at the K- ZOO river and like to troll up stream with hot n tots.

    Rich

We usually fish the AuSable and the Rifle and a few times at the East Branch of the AuGres...

We dont do much lure fishing, we chuck spawn and wax worms, and do real good on both..

  5. I cure mine with sugar and salt and orange jello..

Start out with 1 gallon of river water or clean ditch water (if you can find it) and pour in 1 cup of uniodized salt and a 1/2 cup of sugar and 1/2 box of orange jello, stir till all ingredients are dissolved and put your eggs in and soak them for 8 to 12 hrs stirring about every other hour, drain and rince with river ,ditch, lake water let dry and put them in a good sealed container..

    Thats it ...Hope this helps...

  6. Well fishin indian i dont have no problem with your tribe or what tribe is out netting fish but the big question i have is that WHY put your nets where its the most productive for the local charter captains and sport fisherman fish, because you know we all fish there and the fish are there, with that said go find your own dam water to fish, your not the only one that makes your living out there.

And it just shows your ignorance by calling us fisherman "real morons". So if your a representitive for your tribal by far your NOT MAKING FRIENDS in the sportfishing community !!!!!!!

However the video is "blah" to me you's can say what you want on the taking of fish and how much you take.... I'm just glad you dont have your fingers in my walleye fishery here on the east side.....

And for the bait shop owner on the video said that there are tone of tackle in your nets, the reason for that is to me MARK YOUR NETS BETTER and i also have some tackle in there for that reason..

    Ok i'm done venting....:D

    BOYCOTT MANISTEE CASINO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

btw thanks Mike for leaving this up for all of us to read and see...

  7. I usually go find a spot on a acorn ridge and sit down and wait for about 1/2 hr and if there is any they come back out after the woods quiet down from me walking in, or i was just introduced to a new method that is a total riot is that a friend has 4 Mountain Curr's and when he turns them loose just wait till the dogs bark at the tree and head to the tree and start looking....If you would like to go Caz get ahold of me and we can set something up with him and the dogs.......

  8. This is absolutely true too!!!!!

My first time 1998ish, Set the boat down right after 200 boats left for the Lind Classic. All I knew was bottom bouncers and crawler harnesses. Took home 8lbers!!!! Was hooked, ran back every weekend for a month straight!

Dv8oR- It's still the same but not the quanity of big fish as in the late 90's but there is still a high abundance of fish but it is still a great fishery. I hope the Tourney is held here :D...
