  1. Trying to get this late night report in for anyone running in the morning. So we've got a beautiful strawberry moon coupled with widespread cold water so fish were scattered and fishing tonight was tough. But we found some small kings late in 120 fow sw of the pier. What worked was riggers in the top 40 feet of the water column with blue green dolphin spoons, east/southeast troll was best and we end this evening 1/3
  2. Thursday night was family night on my boat took the lady and the dog out for a quick fishing trip. Headed straight west out of PS set lines at around 7:15 in 130 fow. Finally found some kings in front of the stacks in 145-155 fow. Pearl Dew spin doctor with sunshine pickle took both fish diver set on 1 111-115 back. Ended the night at 9pm 2/2 with a pair of 12lb kings.
  3. Heard you on 68 last night wondered what port you were in, thanks for the info we headed west out of ps with the spin doctor program to 150 fow and took some nice kings
  4. Friday evening was the first trip out for the season and I managed to end the night 0/4 Setup lines southwest of the pier head worked 70-90 fow all lead core bite 10, 7, 4 color all worked with mixed veggie program 2.8 sog. Sunday morning headed back to the same water setup and the fishing was dead, pulled lines at 10 am in 60 fow straight in front of the channel and took a laker with mixed veggie on 5 color. So overall not a great weekend for the first time out but it can only get better from here.
  5. Fished the big Manistee Saturday am, fish are in the river best fishing is in the deep pockets of water with spawn or body baits from suicide hill down stream. Plus fish Grand Rapids at sixth street Sunday pm, which has been producing fish all week, small jacks, kings, and coho are making their way up stream and holding at the dam, best lures where fire tiger hot n tot, green blue fox vibrax spinner or spawn. Fishing looks good and should only improve as the fall moves forward.
  6. There are a few that have already trickled up to sixth street, so I would imagine its gonna happen soon!!
  7. Better question is what type of cable are you running on your riggers? I say this because Ive had problems in the past breaking cable, so I switched to 200 lb spectra deep sea braid fishing line, its very quiet, smooth, and doesn't break. But I do run snubbers on the back side of my cannon balls to my release clips, I like the elastic pull for hook sets down at the ball.
  8. Took my dad out for a holiday weekend fishing trip Sunday morning, left the pier heads around 6, then shot north around 3 miles. Started in 90 fow because there seemed to be a nice temp break set up around 50 down. Had a quick furry for maybe an hour and a half and ended at 9 am with 4 fish, 2 cohos, 1 king, and 1 steelie. All rigger bit 55-65 down ProKing and Sea Quest where the lures of choice , holo blue green dolphin took 2, and uv pearl, green took 2 also.
  9. Ended 2/4 last night started in 70 fow went out to 120 fow, and ended in 95 fow where we picked up a pair of 10 pounders on a south troll. White and green holo or uv spoons took the hits and fish. Riggers at 60 and 50 down both went and full core also gave up some action, in all a beautiful late summer night and I'm looking forward to the weekend!
  10. Ill be out tonight too, probably gonna work 80-110 fow, lemon and green spoons have been working for me, plus a dw 8in green frog with green strong fly high diver set 3 150 back. hit me up on 68 "Tha Double V"
  11. Well lets just say that our Friday night was quite dismal... Started about 2 miles north of the channel set lines, and trolled S SW the rest of the night, ended 1/1 with a nice little 8lbs coho before calling it quits. Worked 70-100 fow with 4-6 color and riggers set 40-50 down, marked fish in the top 50, with a good amount of bait too suspended around 20 fow but couldnt get the bite going. Fish we did manage was 90 fow on a rigger 50 down uv green puke.
  12. Fished PS this am end the morning 6/6 with a mixed bag of kings, coho, and one steelhead in 80 to 90 fow north of the stacks. First off 5 of 6 fish came on a S SW troll, so again as some others have posted today south troll was the best. What worked, 4-6 color lead uv mixed veggie, uv blue red candy, and yeck fireball 50 down on riggers. In all beautiful day on the water and great start to this season.
