  1. We just bought a slightly used fish hawk 840, the problem is, there is is no manual with it. does anyone know where i can down load one?I'm sure we can learn to use it in time but a manual would sure help the learning curve, thanks in advance for any help.

  2. When i was a young man i made one of the smartest decishions i have made in my life and i enlisted in the navy.and for punishiment they stationed me for three years on Key West,as one of the things to do there was snorkeling i loved it,saw many different kinds of fish and many other things that you will never see in freshwater. I have long since gave up snorkeling for reasons that now seam trivial except that i would not even come close to seeing the same kind of senery that i once did in the carabian.

those pics really brought that back for me thanks man.

  3. Frank you have fished on the Tad Pole before so you know that we have lowrance on our dash the fish finder is awesome i havent seen any other work any better. the gps is a crap shoot it is the 5300 gpi with the lake master chip in it.about 80%of the time it works flawlessly then there are the other times.it keeps loosing position and sometimes it doesnt get it back for 30 min or so only to loose it again,we have taken it back twice and got new units(same performance)and also have added a external antenae.i hate to admit that we got took but if i was you i would look for a different brand of gps, fish finder is awesome

  4. very nice looking rig,the Tad Pole is a 23 ft glass boat and has the same engine outdrive and she does very well,we put a new prop on at season end last year and upped the pitch a bit becouse we were not short on power, before that with 75 gal. of fuel and 3 pretty hefty guys top end was 35 mph on the gps so that islander will definatly get across the water. again good lookin ride

  5. Does anyone if the youtube app is available anywhere or would I need a phone that already has it.

I have also heard that adobe has come out with a flash plarer that is compatiable with cell phones but I'm not sure if its myth or not orif even it available yet???

  6. Ok i finially made it to the 21st century and i have purchased myself a new blackberry phone. i was disappointed to find out that it will not play internet based video becouse it doesnt have a flash player then i found out that all blackberry and the iphone for that matter have the same problem.

now the question is for all you tekkies is does anyone know of a flash player that works on the blackberry? a link would be awesome.

thanks for any help in advance

  7. Now Frank ya know we can't afford to hire no drivers, but ya sure is welcome to come drive the tad pole for fun anytime ya want to.besides with the workman comp claims, insurance and vacation and sick days we sure can't afford no driver of your caliber the auto pilot would be way cheaper!!

  8. OK after much discussion and thought Rick and I have decided that we would like to try to get a auto pilot for the boat,we have a 23 ft glass boat with a cobra i/o with power steering, what unit would work for this?and how much might one expect to pay for such a unit(new or used)?

any thoughts or opinions are welcome,

    thanks in advance.

  9. We have been running one 36" bag for the last two years and have found it to be great for slowing the boat to the speed we want, we dinged our prop on the last trip out this year(snug harbor, watch it out in the middle there) so we opted to increase the pitch from 19 to 21 so we will be running two bags next year,I thought that only running one bag would be hard to hold a strait course but that was never an issue unless you left the wheel unattended for a long period of time i will say that once it started to swing the further it went the faster it would turn.as far as adding stability in rough water i would have to agree with the rest of the guys it don't really stop the rolling so much as it slows it down. anyway two bags for us please!

  10. I know the ol' Dog has lost some weight lately but i'm not sure that fella has enough truck to pull her big butt outta the lake, most of those regular cab s-10 trucks have the four cylender engines in them not to mention i believe that was a two wheel drive truck and there pretty light hope he makes it!

And as far as a 24 foot glass being mobile we trailer ours everytime we go.

  11. I take at least a couple of sunset pics every trip out here are a few from this year.
