  1. I love to run J plugs during the month of August and when the salmon start up the chanells. Out on the big lake I would run them 30 feet behind the ball and in the chanells I would run them 60 feet back and only 9-12 foot down. My best J plug allways was the #3 chrome and green back.

    Good luck fishing,

    Caznik

  2. Hello Member's,

Well my son in law and Sarah C and his daughter went out fishing with me at South Haven and did very good. We left Hastings at 3:30am and started heading down the road and made South Haven by 5am. We started fishing at 5:30am and did not get our first hit till it got day light. Fishing was very good for about a half an hour then the stoped bitting. We went 7-7 and had 2 other knock offs but nobody home. Our best rig was the full core with the Sting ray Cory's bait and the NBK. Then we took 1 fish on the SWR rod 51 foot down on a Dreamweaver Coyoty and another fish or dipsy rod 150 foot back using a Green Caznik fly and a yellow and white fish catcher. The fish we caught was 3 laker's and 4 Kings and all the fish ran 8-12 Lbs. I like to thank Sea- Mac and Plumkrazy for the information where to fish and it was very nice talking to Sea-Mac, Plumkrazy, and Dirty Dog on the radio again. Hope you member's can beable to get out this weekend and have a great time fishing with your friends or family.

Hope to see you out there,

    Rich

  3. Hello Member's,

Just thought I'd say hello and see how everyone has been doing fishing on Lake Michigan at Port Sheldon. Its looking like Sunday will be fishable and like to know where to start and wondering if I should motor all the way up to Grand Haven. I been missing all of the friends that are on here and like to get back fishing with you guys again. So if you are going to be out there Sunday please give me a call on 68 and lets see if we can gang up on some fish.

    Thanks guys,

    Rich

  7. Update on the new big fish game.

Each captain will have to put in $10.00 to enter the Big Fish Game. You only have to put in one time only and that is it. You will have to pay me before you go out fishing and not at the weigh in. Any captain that wants to fish any of these tournaments can get in this fun game even though you just happen to sign up latter on. In this game the cash will be big and the winning captain can get something pretty good for their boat for fishing if he likes to. Now how this will work is the captain that has the BIGGEST fish of the year will win all the cash, If the captain is not there at the last event, I will mail the check to the winner.

    Good luck captains…

  9. 2009 West Mich. Fishing League Sign Up

    bigjon2.jpg

    Dreamweaver Lure Company

    B4Klogo.jpg

Thanks to our major sponsors Big Jon Sports and Dreamweaver lure Company. This year the West Michigan fishing league has some nice prizes for the end of the year, but it depends on how many teams we can get signed up and paid. This year I am going to run the fishing league alot different than other years, but it will and can be still alot of fun to be able to meet member's and go out fishing with a bunch of great guys. This year I am going to be working with the termally ill kids like I did for the Dreamweaver and Big Jon event. The cost will be alot cheaper than all other years and we can still have alot of fun fishing together by keeping cash winnings out of the game, but still have cash winning for the big fish event. This year Big Jon sports is going to donate 1 major prize to raffle off at the 5th event and 5 T- shirts and 5 hats for the points champion and the Big fish champ. The major prize can be either a set of rod holders, one downrigger, or whatever Big Jons sports will donate. But it is up to us captain to get a big prize by having as many teams as possible. The more teams we can get the bigger the prize we can get. Dreamweaver lure company is going to donate 5 spin doctors, 5 magnum spoons, 5 regular spoons, 5 SS spoons, 5 T- shirts, 5 hats, and a large lure package to give away. Now the Big jon major prize and the lure package from Dreamweaver will be given away at the end of the year by a raffle off. When you sign up you will receive 10 raffle tickets to try and win either the major prize at the end of the year. If you cannot make all five events that will be fine because I will still give your team a chance to still win the major prize if you cannot show up for the last event, but all I ask from you is to pay for the shipping cost.

  10. Ok Member's,

By this time I normally have the fishing league and the Dreamweaver event sign up ready to go. But I have been very busy with other things and just started talking to sponsors for the league and the Dreamweaver event. So just keep an eye out for when I get the sign up ready for you to get your teams on the list. This year I am only working with Big Jon and Dreamweaver lure company so you members will have a chance to win a great prize this year.

Hope to see ya again soon,

    Rich

  11. Hey Rich, glad to see you back. I noticed you had the blow date for the June event down as May 14th, I'm assuming that is a typo. Also, glad to see that the Dreamweaver is on a different weekend from the bike rally this year. Maybe we'll actually be able to get a campsite. I'm sure Steve is disappointed though, he won't be able to enter the chaps contest:D Looking forward to another great year.

    Thanks Nick,

Deb at Fishermans landing told me that no one would be able to get a camp site there during bike week, so I made the change. Thanks for finding my typo and I have it fixed now.

    See you all soon,

    Rich

  13. Hello Guys,

Well my plans are to finally and go fishing and it will be my last time this year and like to fish with you guys again. Jim I still want you to finish this league off like I asked you to and I see that you have been doing a very good job at it and I like to say thank you very much. I will be fishing with a very good friend that has been helping me out what I have been going through, so she is a rookie at this fishing and I hope she will not get sick on me out there, but she really wants to go with me pretty bad. I have been listening to the marine radio and it is sounding like its going to be allright to fish, but Jim will you call me up if you change your mind on fishing if you think it is going to be to ruff. So Team Caznik will be there to fish with you guys in the last event.

Good luck to all and I will try and spend the night at Fishermans Landing Saturday night.

    See you all very soon,

    Rich

For five years Shane and Rodger from Dreamweaver have trusted me with there company name and I like to say thank you very much for letting me run such a fun event for everyone that I have been doing, with your product. I also like to say thank you very much for being our major sponsor every year in the event. I like to say to everyone here that not only Dreamweaver not only donated prizes and gave us a good deal every time in this event. That Shane and Rodger from Dreamweaver has taken out portion out of the cost of the lures that you happen to pay and it all has been donated to Benifite4kids.

I also like to say thanks to John Williams the general manager from Big Jon Sports for being our major sponsor for two years now. I like to say thank you very much for also trusting me running such an event with your company name. John from Big Jon sports has donated $2000.00 Worth of prizes so everyone here today can have a chance to win.

Guys, without Dreamweaver and Big Jon sports we would not even come close to have such a great event this year and with them being our major sponsor this year there will be now a very happy young boy or girl being able to make there wish come true with there family.

I would also like so say thanks to our other sponsors to this year such as:
