  1. Just wondering how everyone goes about sharing the costs involved to go fishing. Obviously you have the gas expense but also launch and dockage, equipment like lures and harware that can be lost just to mention a few. How much do your friends help with this? I have some friends that will pay for all the gas and will buy a few lures for the boat. I also have friends that think splitting the gas is fair. I want to be fair but I dont want any free loadets. As you know, there are many unseen costs and a lot of work that goes into the maintenance of a boat. How much do you expect your regular fishing buddies to contribute?

  2. I am in a very lucky position to be able to choose between two very nice fish finders. My two options are a Lowrance HDS8 and a Humminbird 1158 cdi combo with down imaging. Most of my fishing will be on Lake Michigan for Salmon but I also spend many hours fishing Lake St. Clair as well as Saginaw Bay for Walleye and Perch. I will mount this unit on a 22 ft Sea Ray without a top so viewing in the bright sun is important. Any suggestions are appreciated.

  3. I have a Cannon Speed and Temp. It is about 15 years old and has been sitting in my closet for the last 13 years. I just pulled it out put it on my boat and used it for the past three weeks and it works great. I am updating all my electronics and just removed it from the boat. Everything is like new and it works great. Make me an offer. If you find something wrong with the unit I will return your money.

  4. Thanks for all of your replies. I have been off the water for 18 years and just getting back into it. Back when I was fishing we never fished boards or multiple dipsy's so I thought I would take advice from others on this site before I tangle up my copper (again...LOL). Anyway, this is a great site with so many sharing there 'secrets' and making this sport even better for everyone. Again, thanks to all and good fishing.

  5. Just wondering in what order do you set your lines, ie, downriggers first, then your boards with copper followed by dipsies, or dipsies followed by your boards. Do you run multiple dipsies and if so, which one goes in first? The reason I ask is I am now running many more rods than in the past and I want to be sure I'm not dropping lines on top of each other.
