I installed that same autopilot system on my 18ft Starcraft Fishmaster…connected to my Lowrance HDS 3 Carbon fish finder…trolled Lake Erie with it several times…worked great…allowed two guys to fish easily

When I looked back and saw my rod tip go up, I noticed my line wasn't behind the boat but far to the outside of my 230 cu. So I carefully maneuvered the fish under the cu rod line which was further back. The fish still caught half of the copper line and I had a little bit of a tangle in my net which I cleared once I got the fish on board. The hook fell out of her mouth when she hit the deck. When I netted the fish I used the transom as a fulcrum for balance until I could get better handle on it to pull the fish in.

Sorry for late report...We ended up 5-11 Friday am out of PS...2 Kings and 3 Lakers...fished 110-140 Fow...40-85 down...Took 2 fish including the 22# King off DR 57 down on a Mag MS Flounder Pounder...a friend from Missouri who'd never been out caught it...other releases were on #200 Cu on MS Craig’s Flounder Pounder, #300 Cu in Dancing Anchovies, and wire divers with green paddle, green/yellow spiny fly...list a big fish on wire diver that broke the hook off spin n glo...

My crew backed out on me at the last minute...Looking for a couple of guys to join me fishing Tomorrow morning out of Holland DNR launch on my 18ft Starcraft Fishmaster...plan to leave dock by 7:00ish...just bring your own drink/food and chip in a few bucks for gas...maybe your favorite lure/body bait.

Good analysis...My riggers have definitely outperformed my Dipsy, copper and leadcore...but I’ve caught most of my biggest fish on wire display

6-9 out of Muskegon last night...2 Kings, 1 Steelhead and 3 Coho...1 King was 18#...1 Coho went 7#...fished a little south in 185 ft fow...south troll best direction...2.4mph sog.

What worked:

4 fish on Stinger Standard Monkey Puke off rigger 30 ft down.

1 Coho on MS Mag Flounder Pounder off rigger 41 ft down

1 Big King on Green/Yellow ProTroll Flasher/Yellow spinny 140 ft back on #2 setting.

Started late, 8am  thinking the waves would settle.
Was not too bad but with two wave systems, 3' rollers out of NW, and 1-2 chop out of east made for pretty bumpy until about 10am when the east wind died and it settled. 
Fished solo 75- 130.
Had a rip on a 6 color with mag blue dolphin in 85'
6# King 35 down on  rigger, mag flounder pounder. in 115'
6# Steelhead 110 back on std dipsy with green spinner & fly in 115'
Shaker king 55 down on rigger (released), mag blue dolphin. in 120'
Only about 12 trailers in the parking lot this am.
Oh, and the summer weeds at PS launch have started.

Fished from 7-9:30pm...caught 4 Kings and a coho...biggest was 19#

Fished around 165-175 ft...2.7-2.9 sog.

2 Kings...Mag MS Flounder Pounder on rigger 42ft Down...this took the 19# king

1 King...300 cu...Mag Stinger Blue Dolphin

1 King...Stinger Monkey Puke on rigger 3O ft down

1 Coho...Jordo...5 Color

Beautiful night on the lake!

Fished Saturday morning straight out of Holland in the fog and rain with two friends...had a couple of close calls crossing lines with a few boats that suddenly appeared out of the fog...Yikes...Thanks to other boats for staying calm working together and avoiding tangles...Wanted to run south where the fishing sounded hotter, but decided not to in the fog.

Went 12-13, but only kept six...3 Kings and 3 cohos... threw back six shakers and lost a big King on a wire diver dipsy that bent the treble hook. Don’t know weights of fish because batteries on scale died...What worked:

Mag Moonshine Flounder Pounder on DR 30 ft...2 Kings and a 2 coho

Mag Blue Dolphin 200 cu...1 King 2 coho

8 in Green/Yellow protroll flasher/spin/glow flie on wire diver 120ft back...lost big fish

Stinger Standard Monkey Puke on DR 20 ft down...and 7 color lead core...5 coho

Here’s the biggest king landed...my buddies first king ever...
