  1. '91 Pursuit 2150 Express Cuddy

    4.3 Mercruiser stern drive

Added Fish On Sports Arch and Canvas Innovations did the top and Isinglas.

When its not in the driveway looking pretty, it gets 3 Traxtech diver holders down each 48" side track and a Canon Mag 10 on each 12" corner track.  Cuddy is small, but has a porta potty and I made some rod storage space.  I have slept in it; just a little small for more than one person...teo kids is doable though.

  2. Started using this for work to keep my stuff scraped in a pile. Am now using it for To Do Lists and such at home.  Has a lot of capabilities including attaching pictures, creating checklists, synchs with multiple devices, etc.  I have Android devices...not sure about iJunk.  Its called "Evernote".  Not designed with fishing or hunting in mind, but I think it'll do.  I intend to give it a shot this year.

  3. I purchased the Pro Package with some options at the beginning of last year...just purchased and installed the Visor frame to that over this weekend. It takes a little playing around to get everything squared up, but love the product. If you need something a little custom, Jim at Fish On Sports will work with you. You can get better product (custom bent and welded), but for the money Fish On is highly recommended. Sturdy set up. Mine is about ready for a trip to Canvas Innovations for a custom canvas and isinglass. Should have bought everything together last year, but I used the aging bimini and isinglas from the previous boat owner. See pics attached.

  4. I'm planning on purchasing a Minn Kota bow mount trolling motor to use as an autopilot on my 18ft four winns this year. I have a few questions.

    1. How much thrust is recommended for keeping the nose steady on lake Michigan?

    2. Terrova or PowerDrive?

    3. What kind of batteries do you recommend?

I had the 80# Terrova I Pilot on my 18' Lund Alaskan. Had 2 of the Group 28 Cabelas brand AGM batteries tied together for the 24 volts. Also had a Minn Kota on board charger that I installed with the motor and batts...only way to go. Loved that set up. I would recommend this as a minimum. If you have the room for the 36 volt 101#, that may be something to consider for longer trips.

Used my 6 hp kicker for thrust, used the I Pilot for directional control/autopilot. Avoid using the "cruise control" for speed as it'll over or under compensate for wind, wave and current direction at times and in doing so, run your batteries down or create a loss of directional control.

  5. Thanks again Captain Mike. I have had a few very slow outings on Lake MI lately for salmon and thought, for awhile there, that the flat calm conditions were going to put us in for another one for our first ever outing on the Bay. You found us some active fish and we beat up on them pretty good. My parents were thrilled; they made the long trip out from PA to experience Saginaw walleye fishing and had a great time fishing with you. I do think we will be back to the Bay.

  6. No expert on this either...for sure, but the last two weekends....kids and kings and July 4th we have struggled to catch silver fish. Some last minute decisions to speed way up from 2.0-2.8 to 3.1 -3.8 running Mag Streaks like Blue whale and Black Screw Ball, MS Blue Flounder Pounder, and Pro King's Sneaky Pete have produced some mid morning to early afternoon kings in the 10-14 lb range and steelhead in the 7-10 lb range. Now we're not lighting the world on fire, but then again no one has been really.

I intend to try the same strategy when fishing picks up to add another 2-4 fish to the cooler after the early morning bite slows.

Interesting though that JDH has fish hitting flasher flies and meat rigs at that speed. Will have to give that a try. Open to anything out of the ordinary based on our last few outings.

  7. I have the exact same set up on my boat. I have the Traxtech backing plates under the track so there is not much movement there, but there is a bit of slop in the canon swivel mounts. That is where 80-90% of the movement at the end of the rigger boom is coming from. Not really that concerned though...seems pretty normal from what I've seen.

  8. Well, pretty bummed...not only will my boat not be ready Saturday morning, but I won't be on board Motion Show as crew either. Work is nuts, home is nuts, and I signed up to coach Little League...much bigger commitment than I thought...1 practice and 2 games a week through mid June, including Saturday mornings. :(

Its becoming pretty fun though working with the kids and seeing them picking it up; so am gonna see this through and join you guys later this summer. In the meantime, hope to have the boat out with some improvements in the next weekend or two.

Least I can do is fish Friday evenings and Sundays to help Motion Show put the smack down on Killin It! ;) Gotta be ready for Holland Steelheaders in mid May (might actaully make that one) and Kids N Kings at end of June as well.

  9. Well, I did end up going with a Fish On Arch and some Coastal lighting...and some goodies from TraxTech. Good thing I sold the other boat to pay for some of this stuff! :D Working on installing everything over the next few weeks. Can't wait to get it all done and get it on the water. Will post some pics once its all done.
