  1. The Trophy line of Bayliners is their most popular. The new ones are being born in S. America now, labor costs I do guess. Nice boats if you can buy one. And the ones in fresh water offer the best of the best, as one would expect.

  2. Capt. Ed from Ludington again. We have BIG FISH coming in now, up to 27.7# at Thompson's Marina in Ludville. You may have them outside the pierheads early in the 4:30am time, or at dusk at the Big Pt. Sauble. Either way, we expect the 30# class to come in mid-August to 2nd week of Sept. now, everything good is running a bit late this season. The Main Point is that Ludington HAS GOOD FISHING! For some reason, some people of recent keep saying they hear the fishing here isn't that good right now, and they are WRONG!

  3. Capt. Ed from Ludington Michigan. From everyone and everything I've heard this season, it started out very cold, got warmer, and is still too cold for early August. The fish and bait seem to be spread out more than other summers of recent. High winds changing directions all the time hasn't helped any. If the wind changes continue, it's not good. I predict the summer south winds to prevail this month and warmer temps. to bring the Big Kings in late. In big numbers, and in big weights. It may play out till mid-September for the best fishing to get hot.

  4. gm, there was 42 degree water outside, a 23 degree break over 65 inside, a few days ago that would get in the mix inside is what I meant. 13 for 17 fish in 1-1/2 hours was pretty good less than 7 miles out yesterday, instead of 15 miles out late last week. Yes, you are correct, the southern water that comes after the blow will mix in later, but, not right away. Time is a relative factor in my equation sir. Getting back to the thread, I've not seen any fleas up here yet, and I feel they are probably confined to a relatively small area of water. Keep an eye on the Michigan Seacoast satellite images for current info. on surface temps.. Thanks.

  5. A pretty new report is always available at fish-ludington.com where I and other charters share with Glen in posting the current reports for our area. I'd say go south and now in-close since the wind changed again SW gusts pushing colder water inside. Best GPS was 49-52 S., and 33-34 W., before these new gusts. It was calm for 3 days previous. Good luck guys.

  6. I haven't seen any in Ludington so far, and that's because winds have switched around quite a bit. The SW wind now should bring icy temps to the surface real soon, if not already. Absolutely, Flea Flickr was/is the premiere line for this, or it was. Is there a new name for these pesky new type fleas & where do they originate at/color of them too?

  7. Had a friend, charterboat too, that tried a new camera on his boat. This was several years ago. It was free of charge too to promote the product. Only problem was, he got a LOT of Fish coming up to the lure, and resisting it. Customers asked how come it didn't catch fish? He quickly and soundly took it off the boat. WHY? Cause, we can't answer the customers WHY the fish won't bite it! It's a phenomenon we just can't explain, and why SHOULD WE? It's just the way of the the fishing world, and nobody knows for sure, imho.
