  1. Well I wouldnt say all electricians go over board with the transfer switches... Lots of times we are just installing what was sold to the customer at lowes or home depot.... at least for the generacs... auto transfers are nice due to the cycle period for the generator Manual ones are fine too.. Best advice to avoid the over spending would be to tell them how many circuits you want to protect and so forth...

  2. shad die off from the colder water temps... the statistic is that roughly 97% of the shad die off in the winter due to the cold water temp. Those shad that do die, get eaten by the walleye. Kind of like trying to smallmouth fish on ST Clair when the Mayflies are all dying... Difficult due to the food source.... They will die, the walleye and other fish will eat them, and when this buffet ends they will be hitting the lures again.

  3. Blue Chrome and perch jigging raps have been a homerun this year. Other then that ive had some good luck with wax worms as well. But the Jiggin raps are were its at. Saginaw river caught 33 walleye in 2 hours but only 3 keepers... it was action tho. =)

  4. Decided to make my own minnow bucket... The ones online were like 60 bucks. I got the bucket for $5, the battery opperated Aerator for $8, and the top tray which I modified for $11. FOr a grand total of 24 bucks. and I have storage for tip up stuff at the top, and it becomes a nice seat as well!

  5. The good news is I was able to walk the lake and find areas that look VERY promising... able to see all the little subtle changes. So Im hoping that even though I got skunked, I am much better prepared for when the conditions are in my favor.

  6. Went out yesterday and the rain had melted all the snow... The ice was Crystal clear.. I could see all the way to the bottom. It was around 6 inches thick, and even knowing that I was a little freaked out about it. The fishing wasnt that good.. in fact I didnt get one bite.. but Im thinking the clear ice had something to do with it?

  7. Ok I heard Steeliebob talking about ice fishing for steelhead... how is this done, and what do I need? Right now I have basic stuff I use for Pike and pan fish. Ice shanty, Power Auger, some tip ups etc. 3 ice fishing poles and small ice fishing jigs... Lay it on me fellas.
