Man I like those hardtops
-
Anyone attempted the trip from the mainland to Beaver Island by private boat? I'm thinking about attempting this on my 21' boat? Thoughts?
-
Go home and take a nap.

So...what rig caught the sea gull?
-
-
Ok, I have 4 downriggers, one starboard side & one stern starboard side, same set up on the port side. I have my lead core (full, half & SWR); divers both port & starboard.
Here is the question, should I buy some slide divers, spend the money on lures, or is there something else I should add to the arsenal & why?
I know that if I had $300 I would buy that Fish Hawk 840 Mark (Just Hook'n) is selling, but absent that, thanks for your input.

It's supposedly a 1986 OMC Cobra, model number on the out drive reads 982843

This will be my first attempt at this. This is on an OMC 4.3L. Question, will it be better to take off the lower unit or is it possible to do it another way (besides taking it to the shop)?

i got a hewes craft dream in my bilfold but a sea ray ammount of money in there.
Now that's funny. I'm in the same boat. (Pun intended)

Guys I'm as tired of talking about invasive species as some of you are hearing it. All we want to do is restore the Perch and Walleye in West Michigan, Lake Michigan. I would much rather spend my time Coordinating those efforts than pointing out the flaws in the system, that wont let us do that. We have yet to ask for money, we only require a permit, the DNR has excuses and no logical reasons to stop us. We want to be proactive with the Asian Carp, and I assure you they are very real, we have native predators for them, the Feds admit this, and can be controlled with predators, none happen to be salmon or trout, and there's nothing anyone can do about that.
Get some buddys together take a boat, any boat, go down to Bath Illinois and go for a boat ride, just go for a ride! Then perhaps you'll see, the Asian Carp have already shown us what's going to happen here, if we continue with the "Lack of predators" program to protect the alewives, that protects them all. We have to face the facts, reality.
These chat rooms are supposed to be people who care about our fishing resource, forgive me if that's not the case.
Sincerely, Tom
Tom,
Can you perhaps clarify for me your position on this issue? I'm trying to make sure I understand the point you are trying to make. Is it your belief that if the alewives collapse taking with it the salmon population, with then the perch and walleye become the dominant predators that this would help reduce/eliminate the zebra/quagga mussel and Asian carp problem?
Respectfully,
- Senez

That looks real nice. thanks for the picture.

Wondering what you all think could be causing this leaking of lower unit lubricant. It did not do it last year. (I have a picture but can't figure out how to attach it to this)
-
on my last trip of the year it became a very long day for reasons I won't discuss here.
anyway after being very tired we get the boat on the trailer and start heading home from Whitehall about midnight (we started in Muskegon at 6am). I forgot to take down the soft top. the next morning I look out at the boat and think where did the top go???
all I had left was a couple of the frame tubes.
so, I'm thinking of adding a hardtop to the boat and hooking it into the rocket launcher that I built last winter.
anybody else every do this?
looking for ideas and suggestions.
What ever happened with this I wonder?

Thanks for the input guys. I'm just glad that at 26, my son is willing to indulge his old man and go out with me on the boat.
-
My oldest son is 26 and not interested much in fishing (where did I go wrong), although he is willing to go out with his dad and steer the boat. If he is one of a total of four in the boat, and I only have eight rods in the boat, everybody else either has a license or is under seventeen years old, would he need license too?
-
even worse I had forgot the tuna in the container, it was like a bad chemistry experiment !
Needed Gloves a mask and a paper bag to yak in.
I don't care who you are, that's funny.

WOW, she is a beauty. Congratulations.
