  1. this year I am going to give fixed sliders a try instaed of my usual stackers. So I can run 2 more coppers.

I am going to be using the HD off shore clips but What do I use to attach slider to the main line?

How long of a leader can I use?

Does the slider ever tangle around the main line when Fighting a fish on the main line?

    Thanks Steve

  2. I don't fish any port regularly so I don't get the time to keep on the fish.

When you go to a new port How do you know where to start as far as depth/

I usually head out till I start to see bait then slow down to look for fish. Last year I usually ended up starting around 55'-60' (predawn). then is its slow I start to zig zag my way out

  3. Last year was my first year running copper. While my 200' and 150 ran good, my 250 and 300' had on occasion weeds and Zebra mussels on them.

How are you guy deploying them so they do not fall to the bottom. I was getting stuff on them in 100-140 FOW.

I let the water pull the copper off the reel as we move. do I need to tighten the spool a little to keep them up in the water a little or is there something else I'm missing..

  4. I use the st100 plus also. You just have to fabricate a bracket the will give it a square mount. If the motor is on a bracket this could take a while. Mine is mounted (motor) to the transom and the AP is mounted to the gunnel.

They also make a cabled remote that allows you to control from the helm. I had a 2000 and the reaction time was to fast. It rocked the boat because it would steer to fast on my small boat

  5. We ended up with 16 shortys and no keepers.

Ill be out on the bay next weekend. they were getting out 6 miles this weekend and getting some nice ones. No school for the kids today so we are going to run back up to the river with hunter and morgan to catch some fish.

Once I get out on the bay a few times if you want to take a ride your welcome to come out with me. The guys I usually ice fish with don't like getting out 6-8 miles. they are used to lake st clair

  6. Well with the first walleye trip of the year under our belts we came home physically empty handed.

How ever Hunter and my father had a great time. We ended up with 16 shortys and an empty auger. We tried shallow, deep, drop offs and 3 different locations. I spent more time tying new jigs on hunters line than jigging my own. Every 15 min with out a tap he would start eyeing that tackle box looking for the next secret weapon. Even after cathing a fish he was in the tackle box looking for what the bigger fish wanted.

We started out at the Zville launch and worked our way to the north end of hog alley. I few sleds running the river and 4+'' of ice everywhere. blue seamed to be the color but no lure.

We caught fish on #2 do jiggers, #7 jigging raps, #2 shiver minnows and Swedish pimples all tipped with whole minnows. !0' of water was dead but anywhere in the channel had a few fish

  7. Well my son hunter twisted my wifes arm so we could get up to the Saginaw river and try some wally fishing. Ive been hearing good reports all along the river so hopefully Ill have a good news report for tomorrow.

This is like deer camp. Im tring to go to bed and hunters knocking every few minutes to ask a question about jigging for walleye cause he cant sleep.

  8. I have a set and I use them for walleye and cohos.

Salmon I use walleye boards for copper.

I like them better than any board I have tried. They seam to ride a little farther behind the boat than some other duals I have had but that doesn't affect the lines just preferance
