  1. I just got a copy of the safety check form from the DNR that will be used. It is the same as is used by the USCG. All of the information that you need to know about the USCG required equipment is at the following site:

    www.safetyseal.net

You can also go to http://boat-ed.com/mi/handbook/index.htm for Michigan Boating Laws and Regulations.

The DNR will be at the May 21st event at weigh in and make themselves available to conduct boat inspections if you wish. Upon a successful boat inspection with all required equipment, you will receive a current year inspection decal to display.

We want everybody to be safe on the water and the convenience of the decal may keep you from the random boardings that sometimes occur on the water.

I hope as many people as possible take advantage of this service.

    See you on the water.

  2. for the record i called jim at 1:06 Pm on saturday. I asked him if he would like me to park my boat at my marina and drive around or if i should pull up to a dock and walk up. He said he didnt want to plug up the marina and not have any docks available and being that two other tournament boats were currently in view of myself coming in they knew i was not cheating. Im sorry you feel like you were "cheated" out of first place but last time i checked you cant always be the best fisherman and once in a while someone else has to win. I had a good box for once can you give me a little credit? And being that you won points championship im pretty sure you had enough to fill your boat.

  3. I want to thank Jim, Don, Patty, the sponsors and everybody else involved for making this happen this summer. I had fun. This was perfect for me to learn a lot about the lake itself and fishing for salmon/trout, and that I did. I appreciate the fact that MOST of the people that partcipated in this tournament were open to communications and respected the curfew for weigh ins.

I am an amateur fisherman and intend to stay that way. This is a great group of people that I enjoyed talking to and getting to know.

I look forward to next year. See you on the water.

  4. FYI

The net coordinates have been updated on fishdock.net on 07-06-10. Click on the trap nets link. They list the nets they maintain and have coordinates for three abandoned tribal nets that are a hazard.

I would punch these into your gps plotters and use them as a reference but keep your eyes peeled.:yikes:

They are pretty accurate. There are other nets out there but at least these are posted on the web for us to stay clear of them.

    Good luck and be safe.
