I have owned Scotty's for 16 years. Lifetime warranty on their products. Last season, one of the depth counters "fogged up" and was hard to read. I e-mailed them and the next day customer service called me to clarify the issue, asked how many 'riggers I had, I own 2. They sent me 2 new counters for free.

Do it right the first time  and mount tracks. As the seasons and fishing tactics change, it's easy to move things around without drilling a ton of holes in the gunnels..... ask me how I know...

I set my drags just tight enough to stop the clicker. You can always tighten the drag a bit after the first big run. I have never  "set the hook" with a wire diver and have never broken a fish off using this technique.
