  1. check your transducer cable,if it is ran with other wires it could be a problem with noise bleeding from the other wires they are ran with.transducer wires need to be run by them selves and not with other transducer wires for sure.it is a common problem, even with installs done by the "pros".

  2. whats up with all the excuses from from companys who cant porduce what they promise.they give you a date and then an excuse why they didnt make that date.i was again given a date of next week some time.if i dont have them next week i guess i will post there name and get a refund.hope you see this:mad:

  3. i dont fish tournaments but on the catch and release thing,we caught a lacker with a floy tag last year.this fish was part of a mortality rate study for catch and release fish in lk huron done by dnr fishery bilogist.i had quite a long talk with him about catch and release of salmon and trout.by their findings what kils most of the fish is not being hooked or loosing scales, its being in the net and pounding their heads on the floor or whatever the fish is laid on in the net.we release most of our fish with out netting,if we do net them we do not let them thrash themselves in the net.we release about 20 this weekend:thumb:d

  4. the launch will be a big mess this summer not only the new traffic pattern but the docks are way short this year.with the low water they cant push them in any farther or they will drop of the edge of the concrete ramp.putting my 22 ft hewescraft on the trailer was a pain in the ass.glad we have a slip at sengs for the summer:grin:

  5. i just want to say thanks to Frank and his crew at calumet marine.last august we went down to see frank and go for a test ride in a hewescraft. after the test ride we decided it was time to order our dream boat,a 220 Ocean Pro HT/ET with honda power.so the process of researching electronic began.the plan at first was for a 12 in mfd,bb sounder, radar and sat weather.as winter progressed so did the electronics.we ended up with a simrad nse 12 with bsm2 chirp sounder, structure scan, sonic hub and 4g radar.we also added a garmin 7212 with sat weather,tr1 auto pilot on the 9.9 and a ghp 10 on the 225.i had them install 2 garmin vhf raidos .a fish hawk x4 and a depth raider for speed and temp on 2 riggers.for riggers i went with 2 ciscos with extendable booms and 2 of the new traxteks.for lighting i had a ton of leds installed. after fishing the boat in conditions from flat to solid 2 to 4s with a few bigger and a 8 mile run in that nasty chop on the bay i am very happy with my boat. stuffing all the electronics in this boat was no small task.any of the questions i have had derek has been right there to answer for me.

anybody looking for a good quality fishing boat or electronics should talk to these guys.

ps have to thank hewescraft too the 220 is one sweet ride:thumb:

  6. i have all cisco on my boat, from planner reels to riggers to rod holders and love them.the most adjustable rod holder out there in my opinion.i also like the fact that the tubes are threaded on the base not pressed and glued.they do cost more tho.also like that there are none of the stupid caps to loose.their track is nice too, comes with set screws on the ends so you dont have to buy the seprate end caps, saving you a few bucks:thumb:.

  7. dont use the z board web site, they are not shipping any product.i waited a month and never got my order so i started calling and leaving messages.never got a call back but got a refund and a note that they are having trouble getting parts.after a few phone calls i found out they are out of buss.the original desiner is selling them now under the name ziggy boards, they should have a web site up very soon they told me.they are avalible at anglers ave as stated above.they added a bigger board to called the godzilla for pulling the really long copper rigs.baors are a diffrent color now too

  8. Frank, have you seen or heard of this setup?having hot even warm water on the boat for washing your hands in the cold weather sounds great.sound like a real basic setup.they used a valve screwed into the freshwater flush port and used plastic tubing ran to a cooler or whatever they used for a sink, then out a drain over the side.sounds like the only thing they changed was the thermastat, bumped a 60 up to a 72?

  9. it will stop the wheel from turning freely on its own but will make the steering a little more stiff.you will see the diffrence after a long day at the wheel.if you are changing the steering and can afford it i would go to hydraulic its a lot more comfortable in my opinion.
