Capt John (Daybreak) says....."with a fish like that do not even think about taking it to anyone else".....I was not disappointed and the referral is much appreciated.

The guy got it done 1 1/2 months ahead of when he said he would have it complete.....didn't think that happened in the world of taxidermy!

Not sure if you have swivel bases, but I ran into a similar issue when I installed a kicker motor on a boat close to your rig. I have big Jon And was able to machine my swivel so that it was just far enough out of the way of the kicker to be comfortable.

Have had some good reports of coho averaging 4-5 lbs in trout bay and near miners. I havent been able to get out myself, but those are pretty reliable reports from good friends of mine.

As far as coho go if they are there, best bets are east bank in the bay or in trout bay. Set up of choice for the coho this time of year are flasher/fly combos anywhere from 12' - 25' down on a rigger. You can pick up chinook this time of year as well so try to concentrate some of your presentation lower in the water column as well. Best time for coho is sun up until 9 - 10 am. Very impressive trout for Lake Michigan....matter of fact that would still be a monster by superior standards!!

Definitely the city launch. Below is a link to an online depth chart for the munising bay area. As you will see there are some good breaks over in trout bay and we usually just work those over. Be careful in the south end if you dont have a detailed chart plotter...it comes up QUICK!! Best of luck and let me know how it goes.

Many locals fish the bay in 12-14 footers as it is greatly protected by the island. Might be a little early for salmon, although i have been hearing a few have been picked up recently. Usually you can run the bank from the anna river to sand point and pick up splake any time of year. If the weather looks good long term throughout the day your best bet would be to try to get to trout bay. Be careful of the nets over there, they are well marked but hard to see in the dark:grin:

The responses are very similar to the way we run ours. I usually run a wire diver on a shorter rod on 1 inside and run a slide diver light bite outside on a longer rod set on 3. I have had issues bringing a mag with a ring into the mix before, but never between standard and slide diver.
