When we cleaned fish Sunday, they were all full of alewives and also had a lot of 2 to 4 inch gobies in their stomachs. They are really keying in on the gobies especially the Trout.

What GLF said slow slow slow. If we can get the barometer to hold steady for a few days they should take off.

Left the pier heads @ 6:15 AM took a 330 degree heading and set lines in 40 FOW, trolled all the way out to 155 FOW ended up 3 for 5, 2 lakers, 1 King and a steelhead that was out of the water a lot and came unbuttoned. All of the hits were on an east troll in 65 to 75 FOW. First fish was a laker on the rigger fishlander glow tail green spoon 80'back 45 down. Next was the Steelhead on a 1 color red 00 dodger with green crinkle siggs rig coho candy. Next was a dandy king on the rigger 54 down white 0 dodger with a mirage fly. Next was a rip on the 4 color in 74 FOW, blue kevorkian spoon. Last was a large Laker on a full core green monkey puke dreamweaver spoon. Pulled them at 1:00PM. Nice day on the lake after the rain stopped, talked to GLF and they were having the same kind of day. No pics today but Moosky checked out the box at the slip. Good to see you Greg.

Good job Mark and Katrina! The open boat program really is tough on a morning like the one we had Saturday. The MCsquared will be out Sunday AM, gonna try a little deeper water.

Nice first trip. Congrats on the steelhead. the big one could have been a larger King or horror of horrors a carp. I have foul hooked carp on heavier tackle and had them spool me in front of the piers.
Post your pics in the galleries first then get GLF to help you post to your reports.

Had a report of fish in St Joe on Friday. Left the slip in South Haven @ 7AM, Ran to about Jean Klok park north of the St Joe Piers. Strong offshore wind was really blowing. Set lines in 25 FOW and trolled toward the pier heads. Worked out to 48' and first hit came 28' down on the rigger double Orange crush Fuzzy; Bear King about 5#. Next hit was on a 1 color 00 Red dodger with a silver green crinkle coho candy siggs rig fly on a board, huge Laker that was released. Next trolled out to 68 FOW picked up a dandy Steelhead on the same 1 color dodger combo. Turned to come back in and the whole back of the boat seemed to go. Boated 2 Coho and a small shaker king and the last fish we never saw. ended up boating ;6 of 7 pulled lines @ 1 PM and got back to S Haven around 1:50. Long boat ride for the fish but the 2 newbies we had along had a blast. I still haven't figured out posting pics but they are in the gallery Salmon trout section.
