I had the oppurtunity to fish aboard a friends boat with the owner and designer of the Chamberlain release this past weekend. I have been a Roemer release guy for the past 15 years, using them for everything from eyes to kings. But after using this release, I will be removing the roemers form the boat and using nothing but the Chamberlain. This release has 2 tension screws so you can adjust the rod side tension and also the lure side tension. We had rod tips touching the water and still had 15" browns tripping the release. I also set one up on my boat to see if I could get my Depth Raider readings while using the original termination with the Walker clincher, and yes I can get the readings. I only fished as deep as 20' so, when I get out to the deeper water, I will see if I can still get the readings without having to reterminate. But for anyone that fishes for walleyes on up to kings, this would be a great assest to have on the boat. Keith, the owner told me they had 10" perch tripping the releases while fishing for eyes. It is setup like a blacks, so it is simple to use, all you have to do is set the tensions to your liking and let it go. The biggest positive I see is the not having to use rubber bands any longer while fishing for walleyes or small browns. No more old bands laying around the bottom of the boat, or in the bilge. Here are a couple pics from Monday on my boat with a small brown and and the Fish Doctor Kid's stick it was caught on. I have 10lb big game for browns on the first 100', so this rod is in the release with 10lb line and I have it cranked right down tight.

This is just my opinion on this release, if you have the chance to see one or use it, I would give it a try. Good Luck.
