Nature Vision is redesigning the Fishhawk and coming out with a new model. They had the probe at the Grand Rapids Sport & RV show. I managed to get a picture of it next to one of my buisness cards.

The new probe is suppose to work with the 840 units.

Look for the new units in April. Thats what I was told at the show.

I am not sure about a combo unit.

Nature Vision owns Aqua-Vu also. There is something else in the works.

I picked up a Fish Hawk a couple of weeks ago. I had problems with the probe, and it was replaced with the X4 Probe. It looks sweet! The circuit board is imbedded in acrylic, so no water can get to it. It uses 4AA batteries instead of the 9v battery. It has two probes that come out the front. When these get wet, it turns the probe on. No more having to flip it upside down to turn it off. It has a screw on cap with double "O" rings. This should keep the water out! It will work with 800 and 840 Hish Hawks.

I will be trying it out this weekend.

Mike, My cousins probe stopped working. Is there any way to test the probe or unit to make sure what one it is?
Whats the cost on these probes?
Thanks,
Ken.

I think the price of the new probe is around $229. There is a one year warranty on the new probes.

Swap-tronics(I do this at work once in a while ;)) is the only way I know how to test a probe/unit. 3 things can be bad....probe, transducer, or the unit. He will need to try his probe and unit on another boat with a working unit.

One thing I forgot about. Some of the new fish finders interfere with the fish hawk. Have him turn his fish finder off and try the fish hawk.

I ran this new probe this weekend, and did not have any issues. The probe was at 93' most of the day.
