Hello Member's,
I needs your help because I like to smoke a big ham for the 4th of July and I do not know how to do it. I like to learn how to and start smoking ham's for outings and other family things. Can someone tell me how to do it. What I have is a big propane smoker.
Thanks,
Cazzzz

Well first of all caz how big of a ham are you smoking... The reason i ask is because the theory i've been taught is 4hrs to 1# soaking in the brine....
And go and get yourself a smoking net (or whatever you call it)to put the ham in and let it go, we usually keep our heat/smoke temp in the 180 to 190's .......

Well guys looks like smoking a ham is a tough job. I talked to the butcher and he told me that I have to cure it and inject it and then leave it in the fridge for 4 days. What I am going to get is a whole hog leg and smoke that. He said it would be around 15-20lbs. I will all let you know how this worked out for me and let you all know. He also said it would take 12 hrs to smoke it.
Oh well, I will give it a go,
Rich
