How many lines do you run in your spread at a time? What is your normal spread?

It depends on how many guys I have on the boat. In the spring with the boards out I run up to 10 lines. When I am fishing deep, I will run up to 6 with 4 riggers and 2 wires, or I may throw in a Thumper. I am going to try running 2 dipseys on each side this year.

Billy,
Sounds good, although you will be missing the awesome browns that will be in there this year at home port. HMMM salmon or browns,I would keep the boat right where it is going to be.Can't wait, see you there. I am trying to get Werner to come out west for a few days.I will keep you posted on that.

Guys, Guys, we have plenty of browns along the Niagara County shoreline as well, you just gotta fish for em. No one does once the kings show up, but they're there.

Tim,
I tried last year for a few hours, we did get one, but the water was so clear. You are right salmon are a lot more fun to catch but it is nice to change up once in a while. I will fish browns out there if the water is dirty when I am out there.

I'll have had my fill of browns in April on the old boat. Then it'll be time for Kings! And when I'm done with that out west, I'll happily come home and work the browns again! Kings or browns...either way I can't wait!!!!

Rich,

some interesting news I came across recently, as a fellow Thompson enthusiast, I thought you might be intersted in hearing.

I was on the Thompson Dockside website (Thompson enthusiast website, mostly the old wooden ones, but a good site nonetheless) and read that Yar-Craft (which was a 1969 spin off of Thompson) bought the Thompson molds and rights in Dec of 2005 and plan on bringing back the 240 Fisheman at some point in the future. Here is a link to the thread on that message board.

I have been in occasional contact with Andreas, who runs the site and he had a bunch of Thompson records from when they had the Bankruptcy auction in 1997 and he actually had the build order from August 1985 for my 1986 252 hardtop (listed by the HIN) in his records and he sent me a copy.

Tim,
Thanks for the site, I put it in my favorites and will look at it in depth soon. That would be great if they brought back that mold, there was a lot of those boats sold. It sure is a great big water boat. It is almost time for some open water fishing.
