Most hosts do a nightly back up. There is one small problem. They do not keep the back up longer than 24 hours. So....if you are unaware of the nightly back up, and you wait more than 24 hours, you loose everything. Some hosts do a weekly back up, and some do a monthly back up. Going back a week or a month is still better than loosing the site.

That beig said, they should have been able to get back online the next day. But....if you do not have the cure for the intrusion, there is no sense in bringing it back online.

I talked to Dave Mull at GLA and he said they've had a lot bigger issues with it than they originally thought. The site still isn't up and running. He didn't have a forecast for it coming back up.
