The first time I ever took my wife fishing was on Baseline Lake. We were just dating at the time. I use to be serious into bass fishing and this was what we were after. I set her up with a black Texas rigged worm, and we were working a weed edge along a drop off. She tells me she's got one. I think to myself...we just started fishing, you have never been fishing before, and you have one already. So I pipe up, "you are just hung up on the weeds" and keep on fising. Nice guy ehh? Well, she says she has one and I turn around and look. Low and behold, she does have one on. After a short fight, she gets the bass to the boat and I grab it by the lip. Its a 19" largemouth. I ask her if she wants to hold it and kiss it. She opts not to do either. So, I let her bass go and we continue fishing.
2 hours later without either of us getting a bite, she asks if I am ready to go. Not wanting to get skunked and beat by a WOMAN, I say no and we continue fishing. About 30 minutes later, she pipes up and asks the same question. Well I still have not had a bite, so I say "not yet". Finally, 30 minutes later I hook a fish and bring in a 17" bass.
Then she pipes up "Now can we go home"? I agree and we head home. In the truck on the way she pipes up..."Mine was bigger than yours"!
