Launched 5:30 at the River. 1st one in today. :) Took it slow on the way out. Made a loop around the mouth 20-25 FOW. Didn’t see much but looked back & saw 8 boats behind me. Worked out a little deeper till the sun came up then headed West towards Russell. Wasn’t going to get caught up in this: (At 1 count there were 47 boats) Calm with patchy fog till about 8:30.

Anyways, saw some screen activity in 37-42FOW & stayed with it going west. Surface 63F, 25 ft down 61F. Found some cooler water ½ way to Russell – 58.5F down 25. Came across this guy on the rigger, Watermelon NK 80 back, 2 1/2 at the ball heading Southwest. (19Lb King, clean). Lots of energy in this beast he made 3 good runs & broke water twice.

Pretty good scum line formed from about 25FOW off Mud Pond to about 45 FOW just East of Russell. Found a new J-plug floating in it. Strange, but it was a couple degrees warmer on the North side of the line.

Got this guy at 25 over 40 FOW off Russell. Bloody Blk/Silver R&R. Again 2 ½ at the ball, same heading. (26 Lb King, clean)

(box is 27" long)
Some wood in the river. A lot of wood on west side of piers. Couple of really big logs. One had to be 15 ft long & 1 ½ ft diameter. The Stephen B. Roman came in earlier. He may have made a path, although most of the mud seemed to be towards the west. Some guys having a good day, some not. Couple boats went way out & sounded like they were doing well. Ragboats out in full force. Off at noon.
Luck to all,
Tom B.
