Any waterfowl hunters in the group? I gave this up when I got serious into deer hunting. Between my family, fishing and deer hunting, there is not time for it.

I do alot of duck hunting. Last year i hunted 46 days of the season, including goose season. I get my buck during bow season, and only hunt opening day of gun, then its back to the water.

I do alot of waterfowling. I hunt every season michigan has to offer. I also go to North Dakota every year for ten days which usually becomes a fethery blood bath. I love the moto " If it flies, it dies"

I like the idea of having a waterfowl forum. This is my passion in the fall. Majority of it in the Saginaw bay slaying diver ducks.

OOOHHHH BOY!!! There is nothing better. A screaming drag cannot compare to whistling wings. So what are the guesses for the opener? We have about 3 weeks to go and they haven't posted it yet.

Too deep,

Looks like the duck season opener will be Oct. 7 in the South zone. Rumors of the regular goose season starting that weekend also. These are the recommendations from CWAC to the DNR and the feds. Personaly I would like a little later opener but with the freze out last year some poeple are getting all freaked out.

Yeah it was pretty tough going last year. I did a lot of ice breaking. I am frantically trying to finish my layout boat for the bay. I just moved here 3 years ago and I can't take it any longer. I have about 100 flight decoys. Anybody with some tips on where to go on the bay? I am somewhat familiar with it.

too deep,

We usually hunt off the west side of the bay. Marshes around Linwood and Pinconning. We see and hear guys hunting open water out there. I know a lot of guys hunt the east side also. I think if you get out to open water the divers are usually there.

Is there something other than waterfowl and spring turkeys to hunt?
