My 5 nephews ages 6-11 were up for a visit from Indiana, and I promised them that if the lake was nice I would take them out salmon fishing for their first time ever. August 17 came and I readied the boat after work, and the boys arrived ready to go, and the conditions were perfect for our trip. I recruited a buddy Travis along to help, and boy we needed it.
I launched the boat and loaded up my crew. These guys had no idea what was in store for them.

We motored out to our spot and just as the last line was set...FISH ON...everyone rushed to the back of the boat as Jimmy worked this one in.

And the reward for this exited young angler.

It didn't take long for another hungry king to climb on, and Jeremy wrestled this one to the net interrupting our groups photo attempt.

We finally got our group picture as the full moon started to light our way as the sun had set.

No time to rest as Kevin handled this "good fighter" to the boat.

As darkness came our spot was full of bait and hooks. The glow baits we were using kept the action at a blistering pace. Trevor lost a nice king at the net that took him out past 400' on a diver. Jason boated a couple bruisers and he handled the rod like a seasoned veteran at the tender age of 6. Kevin and Trevor both landed fish, Jimmy got his limit. The eyes were heavy and Trevor was napping when we pulled lines at 11pm. They all fell asleep on the 20 minute ride home, and popped awake to tell the stories to their moms. One last shot of my crew before some sweet dreams. Nice work boys!
