View Full Version : Lk Erie Sun/Mon
Had a couple good days at Erie. The action was red hot and we pulled our limit in 2 hours Sunday. It took 4-1/2 hours on Monday for our limit. We fished 14-18 feet of water about 4 miles south of Bolles Harbor both days. All fish caught trolling, we had stinger scorpion confusion and copper watermelon on the riggers set 2 ft off the bottom and tots and warts 50-80 back on the boards. Chrome in blue/black and green were the best cranks. Cranks were best Sunday, spoons were best Monday. Get em while it's hot-good luck!
I am not a walleye fisherman. How fast do you troll when you are trolling for them?

Mike,
Just like fishing for Salmon, you let the fish tell you how fast. Most troll between 1.0 mph to 2.0 mph, but I have been up to speeds of 2.4-2.7 before on Lake Erie. Also what you are pulling has a lot to do with speeds, crawler harnesses you need to troll slow but spoons and plugs you can troll faster.

Righto Steve. We have trolled so slow at times that the only action the bait has is done by the angler, not the forward momentum of the boat. I have also caught them at breakneck pike trolling speeds too.
