I hear what you are saying about our lingo. Different occupations also have their own terminology. If a pipefitter told an electrician he was going to two hole a flange, the electrician would be confused. If an electrician told the fitter to hand him the wiggy he'd get a strange look. Every trade, profession or sport, has their own lingo.:)

There defiantly some creative minds out there.
Every time we get a newbee on board, they ask why the spoon is called Micheal Jackson. ( 1/2 black 1/2 white). They always chuckle.

The nick name on my boat for my favorite spoon is the "NUCLEAR BEAVER" it works great on any out-n-down, flat line, core, slider, frisbee, or divebomb with a snubber on wire with a twilly tip.

Honestly... I have a little too much fun with the nicknames of lures. Here in NH, we'll have 30 guys talking on the radio that know eachother... when they ask what is working for us, I'll give them some name that I just made up. For example... a couple years ago, a good friend was fishing with me, his name is Ken G. We started nailing fish on some goofy looking black and purple lure with a copper back. We started calling it the KennyG. When we said the name on the radio, no one knew what we were talking about, but they didn't want to appear clueless, so they didn't ask. The next day, I heard from my friend that owns a local tackle shop that people had been coming in that morning asking for a KennyG spoon. He wanted to know if I had ever heard of it. Haha. So, since that day, we try to come up with a new name a couple times a year to keep people guessing. Mean, but fun.

LMAO because I have done similar things. I know certain colors get hot, but there are way too many to choose from. Example: A fish is going to know the difference between a Plumcrazy and a Kavorkian. Purple has always been a good color, and the old reliable black and raspberry still catches fish. A lot of stuff is designed to catch fishermen. A good selection of the glows and basic colors will gitter done.
