Not much bait in that depth(100 fow),all the bait is stacked up in tight,50 fow and shallower.

Been taking matures out of temp the last 3 days straight.

Nice fish Skeiner! I have cleaned a few fish lately that looked like their spawn may have been ready.

With no bait and that high a temp, dare I ask why you were fishing there????

Apparently you were marking good hooks???

Couple of questions for you SkeineMachine.

Was this fish caught in the morning?

Why did you choose to target fish in the "out of temp" waters?

Do you troll the same, faster, or slower when you are targeting these fish in the "out of temp" water? Whats your preferred down speed?

Are you mostly using meat when fishing the "out of temp" waters?

I know it is not uncommon to get them out of temp especially when staging. We got 'em last Labor Day off the Niagara River about 60 down when 50 degrees was down 85. All we got "in" temp was teenagers.

I know its not uncommon to catch them out of temp when they are staged to run. It just seems a little early for them to be staged. This is why I asked about targeting them out of temp now.

Mike, fish was caught at 06:31 am.

We're targeting the mature, out of temp fish because recently the 44 F temp fish have been teenagers(12-18 lb avg with shakers mixed in-remember we're derby fishing).

With the warmer water, using meat(cut & whole bait),we'll run 2.0-2.2 mph down speed.

Spoons have been producing more, but smaller fish.

We see which rods fire, then adjust the program accordingly.

I was wondering if you were derby fishing.

What have your fishing times been?

How many fish have you been catching per trip?

Usually lines down by 05:30,off the water by lunchtime.

The last couple days have slowed considerably, averaging 5-8 Kings in a morning.

Should be back out tomorrow morning,if not,Monday for sure.

Here's hoping it picks up,but when derby fishing you want one big bite, quality not quantity.
