I received this pic anonymously. As many know, the probe is currently available, but there's no word on when the display will be ready. Rumor has it that it might be as early as August, but then again it could be next year.
It's nice looking, I might give the system a try when it comes out.
For those less inclined to the obvious, it displays surface temp and speed and down temp and speed.

Thats a nice looking unit. I have the new probe. I currently have 22 hours on the first set of batteries I put in it. There should not be any seal/water issues with the new probe.

GLF - Where can I get the probe? I can't find them for sale anywhere.

D & R Sports (http://www.dandrsports.com/) in Kalamazoo, Michigan has them.
You can call them at 269-372-2277. Ask for Ken Vandervest and he will hook you up with one. Tell him Mike Heckman told you where to get them. ;)
I now have over 30 hours on the first set of batteries I put in it.
After this weekend, I now have over 36 hours on the batteries.

I was informed by Fish Halk that the new complete unit and head should be availible this fall. Cost of the complete set up should be in the mid $600's. Ouch. I personally do not like using the cable for the signal, but $650 +/- for the unit?????
