how do you guys set up youre planer boards as far as the weights are concerned.is it strictly by wave action or do you set them as far forward as possible(assuming that gets it to the side of the boat more)i would like to get mine as far to the side as possible without going so far back.

I have noticed that they need to be setup differently according to your presentation. ie..if you are using leadcore the weight needs to be adjusted accordingly, as the board will track a little different. Also true if you are using BB & harnesses, inline weights, or snap weights. It just takes a little monkeying around for the boards to track through the water the way you want them to.

For lead, I run mine on zero. For copper, it's +2. If it's really choppy, I will back them down some.

I mainly use my Walleye Boards for Lead Core and I have set the weights as far forward as possible. The lead core pulls down on the back of the board so by moving the weight forward the front of the board can dig in and get out further from the boat.
