  1. Hi Scott

not sure if we touched base last year?? but I am interested as I have the same problem exactly. My regular day off is Wed but I can ofter make an afternoon trip (3 ish) I have a well equipped Slickcraft so if it works out we can trade trips or I'd be happy to join you more often if you prefer your boat and I'd chip in for costs. I would like to get a crew for the 3+1 tourney which is normally on Thursday nights and I also like to join the DreamWeaver tourney-last year we took 3rd place in it--

Anyway let me know if you want to get together on this. I'm doing some work on my boat now and your welcome to stop in and check it out if you like.

  2. Can you post pictures of the interior please?
  3. I have a 6h 4 stroke long shaft that was broken in perfectly according to specifications. (was board, took about two weeks) Run 15 mins let cool down, 30 mins 1 hr, 3 hrs etc. Actually only ran on the big lake maybe 10 - 20 hrs. My 2stroke ran perfectly and was a sipper, so didn't need to use this 4 stroke kicker so it is properly broken in and in reality, brand new. I also had an alternator factory installed so it will charge your on board batteries while running. Paid 1450.00 for it....... I'll take 900 for it as long as it goes to a good home.
  4. what are you using for swivel bases?

  5. Are they still available? I would like to see pictures of the set up. Im looking for extra rod holders and a couple 3 rod trees. Thank you, You may PM me if you would like a phone number to text pics to. Scott
  6. Kris,

You are my neighbor down a bit in Jamestown, correct?

  7. Has been tough for us also the last 3 trips out of Holland. 2 for 2 1 for 2 1 for 2 Worst 3 consecutive big lake trips I've had in the last 5+ years.
  8. So if that is all there is to wind direction, what factors do you guys take into consideration when deciding where to start? Go north, south,,,, Start shallow,, run out deeper ?? I know it's not exact science but surely there are factors that come into play. Just trying to pick up tips if anyone cares to share their routine with us all. TIA Scott
  9. Alright seasoned veterans, Who can share their wisdom concerning wind direction and its effects on starting points, IE most probable locations that will hold bait and/or our prize catch when heading out in the AM or PM after a strong SW wind or NE wind etc... I have temp/speed probe at the ball, fish finder and all the presentations I know of but struggle on locating a good stating point when heading out after a wind direction change and shake up of the water temps. I'm a weekend fisherman at best, hence the "Weekend Hooker" tag for my boats, and the depth of my knowledge when it comes to wind direction and effects on fishing is the basic W wind brings in the top water and rolls over making temps higher near shore and winds from the E blow out top water and bottom water rolls in to replace it bringing in the colder water. Forever grateful for your incite and wisdom, Scott
  10. COLD water everywhere mid afternoon in Holland. at 60' it was 37.2 deg. Marked a few 60 - 80 fow but nothing would go. Went out to 185 had a steelhead take a melon Ice on a 4c. Handed the rod off to buddy's son who lost it after 10min fight. Another hit a 100 copper and a bloody nose alewife that we landed. Nice lil 10lb Steelhead. Went out to 260, marked a bunch in the top 30' but no takers. Threw everything at them. Fog came 9pm with a warm front and blinded us. We were way out and Visibility was nil. Had a heck of a time getting back inside the pier heads. Red and green lights at end of pier had to be right up on them to see them. all made it back safe. Was a learning experience for sure. Last few trips out of Holland have been very disappointing to say the least. AM or PM. Hope this helps someone
  11. Just some blues/greens/reds/yellows to put ladder back type patterns on spoons that are all beat up and/or missing their tape. I've been saving the blanks. Heck, some spoons are destroyed after 1 or 2 fish. Some last a long time. For the spray clear, do you mean like an acrylic coat spray or something different. Thanks again for the info.
  12. Thank you SeaCatMich for your quick reply. Very helpful. Will look up those bait shops and see if they are online. I'm fishing out of the Holland area. Scott
  13. Looking for best places to purchase color strips to make/redo some big lake spoons. Also, any suggestions for best applications so they don't come off so easily. As always, Thank you so much for your time and wisdom in advance. Scott
  14. Hello to all, I've ordered some equipment to run Meat rigs but do not know the basics. I've read a bunch of forums, but have not yet pieced together; 1. Where is best to purchase Hearing strips 2. Which is better, brine or un-brined 3. Should I soak in Brine before freezing or refreezing and if so, what brine works best. 4. I would like to brine my own Alewives also but could use instruction. As always, thank you so much for your time and wisdom. Scott
  15. Thank you for the report. So hard to find guys to share info and communicate nowadays. I for one always hit the radio when I locate the allusive silver prize we so sought after. Scott Weekend Hooker III
